Kishore Karkera

Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer

Kishore Karkera spent over a decade with Apple, Inc. spearheading the Production Support group in iTunes Operations, building its processes from the ground up. He also headed Operations groups within Apple Maps and App Store. He drove multiple Compliance, Digital transformation and Infrastructure implementation projects for various clients while at KPMG. He brings a unique blend of Technical, Operational and Leadership skills to Zeda.

Alan Dang

Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Alan Dang is a board-certified, licensed orthopaedic spine surgeon. He is an HS Clinical Associate Professor at UCSF. Along with his brother, Dr. Alexis Dang, he started the Orthopaedic Rapid Intelligent Fabrication (ORIF) program at UCSF/San Francisco VA and is a founding member of the UCSF Center for Applied 3D+ Technologies. Dr. Dang is also a capstone mentor and member of the selection committee for the UCSF/UC Berkeley Masters in Translational Medicine program.

Geoffrey Doyle

Chief Investment Officer

Geoffrey Doyle also currently serves as Vice President of Business Development and Founding Advisor of Uniformity Labs. Previously, he was Director of Business Development at Jabil Inc. (NYSE: JBL) most recently focused on strategy and M&A for the healthcare division and a member of the Jabil Additive leadership team. Before joining Jabil Inc, Geoffrey served as President of FIT AG’s US operation, a leading metal Additive Manufacturing company.

Chief Strategy Officer

Dr. Michelle Thai is a board-certified physical and rehabilitation medicine physician and has over 26 years of experience in the medical field in both the US and in Asia. She is a HS Clinical Professor at UC Irvine, School of Medicine. Outside of her involvement with universities in both the US and Asia, Dr. Thai is also an accomplished businesswoman, business owner, and medical director. She is responsible for overseeing Zeda's business activities in Asia.

Recognized for his work in industrializing metal additive manufacturing, Greg has been involved in the 3D printing industry for over 25 years and was inducted into the TCT Hall of Fame. He served as an ambassador for 3D printing and was part of the broader team that helped revolutionize gas turbine engine parts design and production using additive metal at GE Additive.

Matt is the Managing Director for North America at Solvay Ventures. He has spent his career at the intersection of start-ups and large corporations seeking to foster innovation for a profitable and sustainable future. Matt’s mission is to identify, analyze and create investment or collaboration opportunities between start-ups and Solvay.

Before joining Solvay, Matt spent 15 years at Nth Power, a cleantech venture capital investment firm in San Francisco, including 9 years as Partner. He subsequently became an entrepreneur, founding an e-commerce company focused on helping households convert to LED lighting. He has extensive experience as a venture capital investor with various technologies and business models, with an emphasis on power generation, energy storage, and transportation.

Drew grew up in the Silicon Valley where his father was the early CTO of a tiny chemistry-focused startup that grew into a large, successful public company. He has entrepreneurship in his blood. He started and helped to run five companies before joining Morgenthaler Ventures. He has a solid track record of using his deep, operating experience and taking companies from two or three founders and growing them into large, multinational corporations. Drew received his BSEE and MSEE degrees from Stanford and also served on the faculty. He went on to receive an MBA from Harvard.

Dr. Garfin is a world-renown spine surgeon and interim Dean of UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Garfin is well established as a forward-thinking leader, having been involved in designing and assessing surgical techniques and instrumentation to treat spinal disorders. He is a past president of the North American Spine Society (NASS), the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, and the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS).

Robert Kamei

Duke-NUS Medical School and the National University of Singapore

Robert K. Kamei, MD, is Professor, Duke-NUS Medical School and the National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He also holds a tenured faculty position at Duke University, USA.

From 2006 to 2016, he served as the founding Vice Dean (Education) at Duke-NUS Medical School, a collaboration between Duke University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) to develop academic medicine and promote innovation in Singapore. In 2014, he received the Outstanding Educator in Residence Award given by the Singapore Ministry of Education.

He was Associate Provost (Education) and founding Director, Institute for Application of Learning Science and Educational Technology (ALSET) at NUS from July 2016 to 2019. ALSET focuses on the rigorous study of educational best practices in the classroom.

A pediatrician by training, his career has been devoted to developing others. At the University of California, San Francisco, he directed one of the largest pediatric training programs in the United States at the time (1989-2006). While at UCSF, he co-edited the reference textbook, "Fundamentals of Pediatrics," with Dr. Abraham Rudolph. This textbook became one of the major resource books for medical students in the United States. His recently published book, Strategic Learning: A Holistic Approach to Studying, is a popular guide for students in higher education to learn better.

Professor Kamei holds an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. In 2000, he served as a United States Fulbright Senior Scholar in Indonesia.
